IRS aims to go paperless by 2025 as part of its campaign to conquer mountains of paperwork

This move is part of the “paperless processing initiative,” as the IRS aims to reduce paperwork and expedite refunds. The initiative is funded by an $80 billion infusion for the IRS over 10 years under the Inflation Reduction Act. Despite this, IRS funding remains at risk due to potential cutbacks.
