SUMMARY: Dr. Zoe Shanks, executive director of Safe Incorporated, highlights the urgent need for support at the 45-year-old nonprofit dedicated to assisting domestic abuse survivors in Northeast Mississippi. As the only crisis center in the region, Safe also shelters pets through a new partnership with the Humane Society. With a recent $50,000 donor offer, they seek to match funds by the end of September. Currently, $11,500 has been raised. Donations of any amount can support initiatives, including housing for 45 homeless individuals, enabling Safe to provide essential services and a “hand up, not a hand out.”

S.A.F.E. Inc. is a charity that helps victims of domestic violence.

Authorities have reached out to Capitol Police for more information but have not yet received a response.

Town of Sumrall has several public projects under way at same time

Perry County School District sees rank bump up a grade
