Interview: Oceans Behavioral Hospital hosting eight-week program

SUMMARY: One in 25 adults lives with a serious mental illness, and although there’s no single cause, help is available. Ocean Behavioral Hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient care, including 17 beds each for adolescents (12-17) and geriatrics (55+). The outpatient program, directed by Veronica Keith, is intensive and requires a minimum of three days’ attendance per week with group sessions and meals included. The hospital also manages medication and faces high demand for services, often dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use. They are hosting an 8-week summer camp focusing on mental health for adolescents, emphasizing coping skills and emotional regulation.

The “SEAS” the Day eight-week program ends on July 26.
