SUMMARY: The Speech and Hearing Center at Mississippi University for Women is hosting Camp TNT, a summer camp designed for children who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. Jennifer Pounders, Clinical Director of the Speech Language Pathology Department, shared that Camp TNT focuses on language enrichment for AAC users. Additionally, a literacy camp using the Orton-Gillingham Barton system will assist children with dyslexia. These camps aim to build confidence by allowing children to interact with peers using similar devices and providing parent training sessions. Graduate students from the university’s SLP program will work closely with the campers, ensuring individualized attention.

Camp TnT is scheduled for the first week of June at Mississippi University for Women in Columbus.
