Interview: Habitat for Humanity hosting home dedication in Verona
SUMMARY: Northeast Mississippi Habitat for Humanity is celebrating 40 years of service by dedicating a new home to the Penro family in Verona. Executive Director Maryan Placencia announced the home dedication ceremony, scheduled for Thursday at 1035 Street, made possible by land donated by the City of Verona and financial support from Home Stretch Furniture and anonymous donors. Habitat for Humanity's mission is to offer a “hand up” rather than a “handout” by helping families build and finance homes at zero interest, enabling them to redirect funds towards education and other needs. Over the past 40 years, the organization has changed the lives of over 150 families.
The dedication will be on May 30 on Fifth Street in Verona.
