Demolition of tornado-ruined strip mall is underway in Amory

1 person in custody for Booneville fatal stabbing
SUMMARY: A man is dead, and a woman is in custody following a stabbing incident in Boonville. Detectives are investigating the city’s second murder of the year, which occurred Tuesday morning on South Lake Street. The victim, whose identity is pending release, was stabbed in the chest; he is not a local resident. The woman in custody also hails from outside the county and has not been charged yet, although charges may be forthcoming. Chief Michael Ry noted that such violent crimes are rare in Boonville, a usually peaceful town.

Interview: Civic Ballet in Tupelo performing ‘Snow Queen’
SUMMARY: The 12th annual “Hope for the Holidays Snow Queen Ballet” is this weekend, a fundraiser benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
