Interview: Bissell Pet Foundation helping Tupelo Lee Humane Society
SUMMARY: The Tupelo Lee Humane Society is being helped by the Bissell Foundation and MetLife Pet Life Insurance in clearing out their shelters. They are offering reduced adoption fees for adult dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies to help move them out of the shelter. Currently, they have 341 animals, which is well over their capacity of 100. The shelter encourages spaying and neutering to prevent overpopulation and suggests microchipping and identification for pets. They also welcome supplies such as towels, blankets, collars, leashes, beds, and dog food.
SUMMARY: Recent rainfall over the past 36 hours has been helpful, with Meridian receiving about 1.25 inches, and areas like Heidelberg seeing over 3 inches. Rain has now moved out, and skies are clearing. Temperatures will drop as a cold front moves through, with gusty winds expected tomorrow (25-35 mph). By Thursday morning, temperatures may dip into the mid to upper 30s, possibly leading to frost. Friday and Saturday could also bring frost with clear skies and lighter winds. The hurricane season has ended with 18 named storms, including 5 major hurricanes. The weekend looks clear, while next week could bring rain.

SUMMARY: The Conerly Trophy will be presented on December 3rd at the Sheraton in Flowood. As the MAIS high school football season concludes, the Tri-County Rebels aim for another state title under Coach Philip Wasson. With a perfect 10-0 record, the Rebels advanced to the finals after playoff victories against Centerville and Columbia Academy. They will face Bowling Green in the 4A state title game, having defeated the Buccaneers in last year’s championship. The game kicks off this Friday at 7 PM at Jackson Academy, showcasing the Rebels’ ongoing quest for back-to-back titles.
The Tri County Academy Rebels are back in the 4A MAIS State Championship game. This year they rematch against Bowling Green. After going 10-0 in the regular season the Rebels are in a good position to repeat. TCA head coach Philip Wasson says his senior class is used to having success at this level. TCA and Bowling Green meet at 7pm this Friday night at Jackson Academy.
