Interview: AKA Inc. hosting its second youth job fair pt. 2
SUMMARY: Alpha Kappa Alpha is hosting their second youth business fair, which promotes young entrepreneurs. Participants include Jennifer Lindsay and Ana Shumpert, who runs “Caked by Anakah,” specializing in event cakes and sweets. Ana was inspired by her love for baking shows and turned her passion into a business during college. Jennifer explains the fair takes place tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Paul Christian Life Center in Tupelo, Mississippi, featuring various youth-led businesses selling baked goods, jewelry, produce, body butter, phone cases, and lip gloss. The fair supports youth entrepreneurship, helping young people start and grow their businesses.
Annaka Shumpert is one of several members of our youth that will showcase her business at the Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc.’s second youth job fair this weekend.

Investigation underway after body found
SUMMARY: The Ward 2 special election in Jackson is headed for a runoff, while an investigation is ongoing following the discovery of a man’s body this morning on N. West Street and Hartfield Street. Residents reported hearing gunshots shortly before the body was found beside his bicycle. Capitol Police responded to the scene, and the coroner has taken the body to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy. Evidence, including the bicycle and personal belongings, has also been collected as part of the investigation.
A body was found Wednesday on Hartfield Street.
