Insurance company that serves Mississippians suffers “data security incident”
SUMMARY: MCNA Insurance Company has announced it is reporting a data security incident affecting certain Mississippi residents. Upon discovery that an unauthorized party had gained access to MCNA systems, the company immediately launched an investigation in partnership with a leading security firm. MCNA discovered that systems within the network may have been infected with malicious code. Personal information involved in this incident may have included names, dates of birth, addresses, telephone and emails, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, health insurance information and billing and claims information. The company has notified affected individuals and offered complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services.
