Indiana's 9th Congressional candidates discuss their top priorities
SUMMARY: In the Ninth Congressional District, Congresswoman Erin Houchin, a Republican, has previously won elections comfortably but faces a challenge from moderate Democrat Tim Peck, an emergency physician focusing on healthcare reform and bipartisan initiatives like telemedicine. Peck emphasizes the importance of abortion rights based on his medical experience, asserting government shouldn’t interfere in healthcare decisions. Houchin, staunchly anti-abortion, prioritizes economic issues, border security, and energy independence. She aims to reverse President Biden’s policies on natural gas and promote the Secure the Border Act. Libertarian candidate Russell Brooksbank is also in the race but has historically had little impact.
