Lance condemned the criminal justice system for its failures. The abuser, Rivers, has a criminal history and is currently in jail on a $1 million bond.

Harrison County coroner Brian Switzer has identified the body found in a vehicle at Wolf River Cemetery as 22-year-old Lauren Johansson from Gulfport. 23-year-old Bryson John Rivers has been charged with her murder and was arrested after a six-hour manhunt. Sheriff Matt Haley stated that deputies spotted Rivers fleeing towards the woods after responding to a welfare concern. Johansson's body was discovered in the vehicle. Rivers is being held on a $1 million bond. More details, including an interview with Johansson's father, will be on WLX News at 6.
