‘I’m not going to resign’: Rankin sheriff responds to former deputies pleading guilty in brutality case
SUMMARY: Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey has held a press conference in response to the guilty pleas of six former law enforcement officers, five of whom served in his department, for beating, torturing, and sexually assaulting two Black men earlier this year. The former officers who pled guilty are awaiting sentencing, with some facing a maximum sentence of life.
