IHL names 21st president of Alcorn State University
SUMMARY: Dr. Tracy M. Cook has been named the 21st president of Alcorn State University by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning. Cook has been serving as the interim president since July 8, 2023, and will officially assume the role on April 1, 2024. With over 25 years of administrative experience in education, Cook, a native of Mississippi, earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Alcorn and his doctorate from William Carey University. Recognized for his time as an athlete at Alcorn, Cook is set to lead the university towards new levels of success with the support of the Board of Trustees.
