‘I wish I could relive that day’: Gulfport man gets life in prison for murdering roommate
SUMMARY: Christopher Moore pled guilty to first-degree murder on Friday after a failed self-defense claim for the 2022 stabbing of his roommate, Darrell Parker, who was found dead in their Gulfport halfway house. Evidence showed Moore stabbed Parker multiple times while holding him in a headlock. Circuit Court Judge Lisa Dodson sentenced him to life in prison, the only possible sentence under Mississippi law for first-degree murder. Moore expressed remorse after sentencing, wishing he could give closure to Parker’s family and relive the tragic day. He will remain in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
