I-Team: Colin and Colt Gray questioned in 2023 for threats
SUMMARY: Tonight, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office released body camera footage of an interview with Colt Gray and his father, Coen, regarding threats made against a school before the recent deadly shooting. Sheriff Janice Mangum expressed regret that schools didn’t monitor Colt, despite stating the investigation couldn’t substantiate threats. An FBI tip was provided, but the sheriff acknowledged a lack of documentation on alerts to schools. Colt, who denied making threats and had a troubled background, received an AR-15-style rifle for Christmas. His grandfather blamed the father for contributing to the environment that led to the incident.
Newly released body camera footage shows an interview last year between Colton Gray, his father and deputies who received word of threats made online to shoot up a middle school one year before Gray allegedly went on a shooting spree at Apalachee High School.
