SUMMARY: Hurricane Milton in the Gulf of Mexico is rapidly intensifying, currently categorized as a Category 1 hurricane with winds at 85 mph. The National Hurricane Center forecasts it may reach Category 4 strength by mid-week, with a potential for Category 5. This poses a severe threat to Florida’s West Coast, which is still recovering from Hurricane Halen, as it is prone to storm surges. Major impacts are expected from the Big Bend to Fort Myers and along Florida’s Atlantic Coast. Notably, this is the first recorded instance of three simultaneous hurricanes in the Atlantic after September, highlighting a busy tropical season.

Punishing rushing attack leads Texas to berth in Peach Bowl with 38-24 win over Clemson
