Hurricane Lee now a Category 5 storm, expected to maintain strength

SUMMARY: Hurricane Lee has become the first Category 5 storm of the Atlantic season, although it is not expected to make landfall. The storm is located about 630 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands and is moving west-northwest at 14 mph with winds of up to 165 mph. It is expected to remain a major hurricane into next week and may reach winds of up to 180 mph. The storm is forecasted to bring dangerous surf and rip currents to the U.S. East Coast starting Sunday. Additionally, Tropical Storm Margot has formed and is expected to strengthen into a hurricane over the weekend.
