SUMMARY: In Longwood, a storm hundreds of miles away caused a tree to crash through a school bus window, narrowly missing eighth grader Tyler Beasley. While riding to Teague Middle School, Tyler was taken by surprise as a branch flew through the window, showering him with glass. Fortunately, he escaped with only minor cuts. His father, Thomas, was shocked by the incident’s aftermath and expressed gratitude that Tyler’s quick reflexes prevented serious injury. Thomas, a fire service worker and EMT, noted that the situation could have been much worse. The school district has not yet responded to inquiries about safety measures.

It was a close call in Altamonte Springs on Friday morning when a tree downed by Hurricane Helene came crashing through a school bus window, missing a young boy’s head by mere inches.
