Huge bond set for teen carjacking suspect

SUMMARY: A judge has set a bond of $1.7 million for a 14-year-old charged in a carjacking. The teenager’s initial court appearance took place in municipal court, presided over by Judge Johnny McDaniels. The incident, captured on a Ring doorbell camera, led the teen’s parents to turn him in to the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office. The teenager is accused of carjacking a family of six at their home on Jane Avenue last Friday and faces six counts of aggravated assault and one count of armed carjacking.
