SUMMARY: Pontotoc High School’s football team is moving from 4A to 5A this season. Head coach Jeff Carter acknowledges that the competition will be tough, but the team is ready to rise to the challenge. Despite the change in classification, the team’s numbers remain the same, posing a challenge in practice. However, the players are excited to compete against some of the best schools in Mississippi. The team will have turnover on offense, particularly at the quarterback position, where there is currently no experience. The season starts on August 25th with a home game against Amory.
