2nd annual 'Safety Festival' held in Hattiesburg Saturday

Walk to bring awareness to mental health issues staged Saturday in Hattiesburg
SUMMARY: The Pine Bell chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) held its Ninth Annual NAMI Walks event today at Town Square Park, aiming to raise awareness and funds for advocacy and education. Dozens of participants walked multiple laps around the park, with over a dozen vendors representing community organizations. The chapter aims to raise $15,000 this year, an increase from last year’s goal of $10,000, and has already collected $11,000. Donations are still being accepted, and more information can be found on their website.

Jackson man killed in apartment shooting in Byram; investigation underway
SUMMARY: A man is being charged with armed robbery after recently being on federal probation for another bank robbery.
