How to protect your home from ice, other threats

Chaney also recommends detaching garden hoses, properly winterizing homes and irrigation systems, leaving faucets running with a slight drip, and open cabinet doors under sinks to protect interior pipes. Additionally, it’s suggested to inspect and clear gutters, evaluate insulation and ventilation in the attic, and consider adding roof and soffit vents to prevent ice dams and reduce energy bills.
