How some local businesses are taking part
SUMMARY: The Green Cup District in downtown Columbus allows citizens to walk around with alcoholic beverages. However, alcohol sales haven’t seen a significant increase since the district was implemented. The goal of the district is to allow businesses to host events without having to obtain additional permits and to attract more people to the downtown area. Business owners believe that as the weather gets nicer, more people will take advantage of the Green Cup District. They also hope that it will bring more artistic and creative events to the community. Oktoberfest and the art walk are expected to draw more people to the district.
