On Wednesday, the heat index exceeded 100 degrees, making outdoor practices difficult. Athletic trainers emphasize the importance of staying hydrated and taking regular breaks, not only for football players but for all students engaged in outdoor activities. It’s advised to take outdoor classes or activities early in the morning to avoid the peak heat of the day. Ensure students stay hydrated by drinking water at least every 20 minutes and avoid outdoor exertion during the hottest parts of the day.
