How gas prices have changed in Mississippi in the last week
SUMMARY: Gas prices have remained relatively stable over the past week, sitting about 20 cents higher than the previous year. This increase is largely due to the decision by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries to cut oil production until the end of 2023. Additionally, lower refinery utilization rates have contributed to slightly higher prices in certain regions, such as the Midwest. These higher gas prices have played a role in the persistently high inflation rate seen in August. States with the largest increases in gas prices include Nevada, California, and Arizona. In Mississippi, gas prices currently sit at $3.29.
