Houston woman’s Range Rover explodes during possible recall-related malfunction
SUMMARY: Selda Johnson is grateful to be alive after her 2019 Range Rover burst into flames while she was driving. On February 7, her dashboard began malfunctioning, prompting her to pull over at the Marand Plaza shopping center. Moments later, the vehicle exploded. Unaware of a recall for engine and coolant issues in her model, she learned from her granddaughter about multiple similar incidents. She hopes her experience will encourage others to research vehicles thoroughly before purchasing and to check for recalls, warning that she could have lost her life. She is still without a vehicle following the incident.

The woman was unaware her 2019 Range Rover had a recall on it when the dashboard started malfunctioning. Moments later, the vehicle was engulfed in flames in what the woman described as a “full-blown explosion.”

Keeping your fruits and veggies safe to eat
SUMMARY: Fruits and vegetables are essential for a healthy diet, but they can harbor harmful bacteria. Experts recommend adults consume up to two cups of fruit and three cups of vegetables daily, while ensuring safe handling. Unwashed produce may carry dirt, bacteria, or pesticides, contributing to foodborne illnesses. When shopping, select undamaged items and keep produce separate from raw meat. Always wash fruits and vegetables under cold running water, and dry them before storage. To maximize freshness, store unwashed berries, cherries, and grapes in the fridge and wash them just before consumption. Timely refrigeration is crucial—ideally within two hours.

Fruits and vegetables are key to a healthy diet, but proper washing is essential for safety. Here’s how to do it right.

SUMMARY: The Trinity men’s basketball team is having a stellar season, ranked 24th nationally with a 14-game winning streak. SUMMARY: University of Houston students marched to the campus police station, demanding action in response to rising crime incidents, including a reported rape and multiple robberies this month. Their protest focused on safety, urging the university to address concerns like inadequate safety resources and the lack of blue light safety towers. The Student Government Association organized the protest, presenting six demands for increased funding, improved safety services, and accountability from police Chief Moore.
