Hot and mostly dry Tuesday with rain chances ahead – Home – WCBI TV
SUMMARY: High temperatures in Columbus, Mississippi on Tuesday will peak in the upper 90s with heat index values exceeding 105 degrees, triggering heat advisories. There’s a slight chance of an afternoon shower. Wednesday will also be hot, with increased rain chances due to an approaching cold front, setting up for cooler temperatures and more rain later in the week. By Thursday, the cold front will stall, becoming a stationary boundary that drives rain chances through the weekend, bringing a welcome break from the summer’s dry heat and aiding drought relief. Highs will cool to the upper 80s on Thursday and Friday.

How to tell if its real or fake
SUMMARY: Scammers are increasingly using deceptive tactics to trick individuals, with phone calls and mail scams becoming common. Starkville Police Chief Mark Ballard highlights QR codes as a new method for scams, urging caution when receiving unsolicited codes. He outlines four red flags to identify scams: claims from familiar organizations, assertions of winning something or being in trouble, demands for immediate action, and requests for specific actions or payment methods. If targeted, individuals should contact their financial institutions and authorities. During the holidays, scams rise, making vigilance and skepticism essential in avoiding victimization.
