SUMMARY: Heat advisories are in effect for much of Columbus, Mississippi, with highs in the mid-90s Thursday, leading to heat indices between 103 and 110°F. Isolated storms may develop, particularly west of US 45. Friday’s temperatures will again rise to the mid to upper 90s, with heat indices possibly exceeding 110°F and the potential for strong storms in the afternoon. The weekend may bring additional storms, especially Friday night and Saturday. A front is expected to move through early Sunday, which should reduce rain and introduce drier weather for the following week.
