Homewood officer shot on his way to work, suspect

The shooting occurred at Ashley Manor Apartments; the , 30-year-old Brandon Gaines, fled the scene and was later found in Kensington Park housing community. a four-hour standoff with police, Gaines turned the gun on himself. initially negotiated and successfully disarmed him of two weapons.
