Chaos swirls around Georgia election board, election measures | Georgia
SUMMARY: The Georgia State Election Board has faced criticism and lawsuits over new election rules implemented just before Election Day. A Fulton County judge dismissed a lawsuit from Democrats seeking an ethics investigation into Governor Brian Kemp for not pursuing complaints against the board. The board argues its measures, such as requiring a hand count of ballots and allowing local election boards to conduct inquiries before certifying results, will ensure election integrity. Democrats express concerns that these rules threaten electoral processes. With early voting starting on Oct. 15, additional lawsuits challenge the board’s authority and recent regulations.

Many Arab, Muslim-American voters leave Harris for Trump, Stein | National
SUMMARY: Support for Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party among Arab Americans is declining during the Biden-Harris administration, with many shifting toward former President Donald Trump and Green Party candidate Jill Stein. A recent survey shows Trump and Harris are nearly tied in Arab American support, with Trump gaining from dissatisfaction over the administration’s handling of the Gaza conflict. This change could impact swing states like Michigan, where Muslim voters also favor Stein over Harris. Overall, the October 7 terror attack appears to have significantly affected voter sentiment, leading to increased Republican identification among the Arab American community.

Will there be a Tropical Storm Nadine after Milton? Here's what forecasters are watching
SUMMARY: In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, significant damage has been reported at Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays, where the storm severely damaged the roof. This hurricane hit shortly after Hurricane Helen, raising concerns about future storms. Chief meteorologist Chris Hokem clarified that the hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with heightened activity typically from August to early October. Although the peak period is now, it’s not unusual to have hurricanes in October. Currently, there is a watch on a system off Africa with a low development chance, but no immediate threats are present.
Forecasters are tracking another disturbance in the Atlantic about 300 miles from Bermuda.
