Kentucky unemployment rises even as state adds more jobs | Kentucky

The labor force expanded by over 5,000 individuals, with 1,973 jobs added, totaling 1,976,436 employed. However, the number of unemployed grew by 3,065 to 108,623. Kentucky’s workforce participation rate rose to 58.2%, though it remains lower than neighboring states. Over the past year, jobs, excluding self-employed and agricultural workers, increased by 28,700 or 1.4%. Notably, construction jobs rose by 4.8%, and the educational and health services sector added 16,500 jobs year-over-year, despite some recent losses.
