Holiday Tree Fest kicks off Thursday night in Tupelo
SUMMARY: Tonight, the annual holiday tree Fest is starting, hosted by the Tupelo Women's Club to raise money for local charities. Last year, the event raised over $166,000 and this year's event will start at 7:00 at the Tupelo cotton mill. The funds raised will benefit the shine Foundation, regional rehab center, safe Incorporated, tree of life, and helping hands. If unable to attend, support can be given through the website by purchasing a raffle ticket or making a donation.

Petal police continuing investigation into deadly early-morning shooting
SUMMARY: An investigation is underway in Pedal following an early morning shooting that left 27-year-old Bernell Gold dead. Around 3:15 a.m., a woman reported to Pedal Police that her ex-boyfriend was banging on her door. After he forced his way inside, another man in the home shot him. Gold later died at the hospital. The Forest County Coroner identified the deceased, and no arrests have been made yet. The investigation continues.
