Hinds County detainee dies after ‘major’ medical emergency

SUMMARY: A detainee at the Hinds County Detention Center, Cleveland Roosevelt Allison, 30, died after experiencing a major medical emergency. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 9, and he was transported to Merit Health where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Sheriff Tyree Jones stated that the cause of death is unknown and foul play is not suspected. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation will investigate, and autopsy results are pending. Allison had been in detention since April 13, 2024, on a 2019 forgery indictment.

All aboard Delta flight survive after plane flips while landing in Toronto
