SUMMARY: The local soccer teams battled in the state tournament, with the Clinton Arrows beating Madison Central in the 7A North State final, and Northwest Rankin defeating Brandon in the South State Championship. The high school basketball playoffs also began, with Saint Andrews beating Heidelberg in a double overtime thriller, and other teams such as Velma Jackson, Raymond, Lanier, and Pelahatchie also securing wins in the first round. North State final will be between Northwest Rankin and Hernando. Clinton and Northwest Rankim will also play for the 7A final in the state title.
