Heavy rain, storm threat Friday PM – Home – WCBI TV
SUMMARY: Another active weather day is expected on Friday, with storm chances sticking around for the weekend. However, next week is expected to be mostly dry. After fog clears up in the morning, the afternoon should see sunshine and temperatures in the lower 90s. Areas along/south of US 82 have a higher chance of seeing the heat index at or above 105°, leading to significant storm fuel. Showers and strong storms are expected to develop in northeastern MS in the afternoon, with gusty winds and heavy rain/flooding as primary threats. Storms are expected to weaken after sunset, but another round could move in overnight. Saturday may start off mostly cloudy but should clear up through the day, with less widespread storm development. Sunday may have more isolated storms. Rain coverage becomes less likely next week as temperatures start climbing, with almost dry weather and highs in the middle 90s expected by mid-week.
