Heat taking hold, how hot we get, how long it lasts, and a focus on the tropics forecast
SUMMARY: Today’s weather forecast includes a few showers, mainly around the lake, with a possibility of more rain tomorrow. However, the overall rain chances are expected to decline as heat takes over. A high-pressure system is moving in, bringing drier air. Patchy fog may persist in the mornings, but temperatures will remain hot, around 92°F. The focus shifts to potential tropical activity, with a 30% chance of development in the western Caribbean over the next week. Forecasts suggest various paths for any developing system, primarily influenced by the Bermuda High. Stay tuned for updates as conditions evolve.
Meteorologist Devon Lucie shows us the isolated showers that were out Wednesday night, then steps us through the next couple of days letting you know where rain chances will go and how that will affect temperatures and what the humidity levels will do through the weekend, then takes a closer look at the extended forecast that’s connected to what might happen in the Western Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico next week, while finally focusing on the tropics with the low chance of possible development in the Western Caribbean the the Yucatan Channel and what type and strength of storm activity we’re tracking and what will drive the path of what will steer the system that will determine the impact it will have on Louisiana, then finally taking a look at the entire seven day forecast with high temperatures and rain chances through next Wednesday.

Beautiful afternoon underway, plus a look at the new drought monitor ~ Mia
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Mia Montgomery reports a cool Thursday in San Antonio, with morning temperatures in the upper 30s and a light freeze in the Hill Country, marking the coldest morning since February. Sunny, dry conditions helped afternoon highs reach the low 70s. Temperatures will dip into the upper 50s by 8 p.m. and low to mid-50s by late evening. The coming days will remain chilly, with highs rebounding into the mid to upper 70s. A potential cold front may impact the area around Thanksgiving, but no rain is expected, and severe drought conditions persist.
After the coldest morning since February, low humidity, sunshine, and calm winds will help temperatures warm into the pleasant low 70s this afternoon. A gradual warming trend takes shape over the next several days as we monitor another front sometime around Thanksgiving. Here’s an update with Mia.
