Health experts address Tuberculosis concerns amid Kansas outbreak
SUMMARY: Kansas is currently facing the largest tuberculosis (TB) outbreak in the U.S. since the 1950s, with 67 active cases reported since January. Oklahoma health officials reassure residents that there is no direct impact, as the state has recorded only 13 cases this year, consistent with typical levels. TB, a serious bacterial infection primarily affecting the lungs, presents symptoms such as a persistent cough and weight loss. Health experts emphasize the importance of monitoring the situation, early detection, and screening for those at risk, including individuals with weakened immune systems or recent travel to high-prevalence areas.

Blood stain leads to 2 arrests in 1997 Oklahoma cold case
SUMMARY: A blood stain on a shoe has led to the arrests of Carolyn Foreman and Dakota Davis in a 1997 Oklahoma cold case involving the murder of 81-year-old Girthy Carolina, known as “Granny” to the community. Witnesses reported that Foreman and Davis entered Carolina’s home, where Davis allegedly attacked her with an axe after using ammonia. The motive appears to be financial, as just nine days before her death, Carolina transferred a $40,000 certificate of deposit to a trust controlled by Foreman, who cashed it out shortly after. Both suspects now face murder and conspiracy charges.
