Hazlehurst family wants justice for daughter killed in June shooting
SUMMARY: In Hazlehurst, Mississippi, the family of Elexus Joiner, a 22-year-old mother killed in June, is demanding justice. Her mother, Clarissa Belton, feels the investigation by the Hazlehurst Police Department is inadequate, believing Fredrequez Gary, who has been charged with the murder, is not the true culprit. Joiner’s family describes her as a kind-hearted person who cherished her children. Belton has reported harassment and bullying related to Joiner’s death, while Police Chief Anthony Parker acknowledges these concerns and advises to file complaints. The investigation continues, with evidence submitted to the Mississippi Crime Lab.
