Hattiesburg Zoo welcomes four-toed hedgehogs to the 4 O’Clock Show

SUMMARY: On the 4:00 show, the Hattiesburg Zoo featured their animal ambassadors, two four-toed hedgehogs named Kiwi and Penny. Hedgehogs, native to Africa, have spikes for protection, though not as sharp as porcupine quills. Kiwi is friendly, while Penny prefers not to be held. Both hedgehogs were once pets but were rescued from Alabama. They primarily eat insects but occasionally enjoy fruits. Although not on public exhibit, they are housed behind the scenes at the zoo. Upcoming events at the zoo include a Renaissance Festival on February 22-23, with medieval games and activities.
