Hattiesburg prepares to host 75th Miss Hospitality Competition

SUMMARY: The 75th annual Mississippi Miss Hospitality competition is set to boost Hattiesburg’s economy this week. Forty-two contestants from across Mississippi will vie for the title of the state’s official Ambassador for Economic Development and Tourism. Leading up to the event, participants engage in social media challenges and volunteer work, showcasing their knowledge and friendliness. The sold-out competition is expected to generate around $500,000 in economic impact. Alongside the visitor spending, more than $100,000 in scholarships will be awarded. The finals and crowning ceremony will take place on Saturday night at the Saenger Theater.

Tupelo waiting on Target to make decision on new store
