Hartfield football eligible for playoffs after suspension overturned by MAIS

SUMMARY: The Hartfield Academy football team has been granted appeal and will now be eligible for this season’s playoffs after being initially suspended for illegally recruiting a player. The by the Midsouth Association of Independent School (MAIS) also allows the two assistant coaches, who were originally suspended for the entire season, to return to the sidelines immediately. However, MAIS did find that Hartfield was careless in allowing the appearance of improper recruiting and placed the school’s football team on probation. They will also have to pay a reduced fine of the original penalty. The Hawks will play Cathedral this Friday.
