SUMMARY: The body found in Laurel County has been confirmed as Joseph Couch, the suspect in the I-75 mass shooting that injured five people on September 7th. Governor Andy Beshear expressed gratitude for those involved in the search and relief that no one else was harmed, stating support for the victims and the community. Initial DNA tests were inconclusive, but further testing confirmed Couch’s identity, and an autopsy revealed he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
