Harrison County signs contract with Acadian Ambulance Service, ousting AMR after 50 years

SUMMARY: One month after deciding to switch emergency services providers, Harrison County officials have unanimously contracted Acadian Ambulance Service, replacing the previously used American Medical Response (AMR) after issues with the latter’s response times. Acadian, which owns a sizable fleet of ambulances and aircraft for medical transport, was highly recommended by a county committee. The service will begin on April 30, excluding Gulfport and Biloxi, which have chosen Pafford EMS. Pafford is setting up facilities in the region, though Gulfport is not allowing docking stations. Pafford currently has no facilities south of Jackson.

Bricen Rivers pleads not guilty to murder of ex-girlfriend Lauren Johansen
