Harrison County sees incumbent council members fall in party runoffs

SUMMARY: In Tuesday’s municipal runoff elections, incumbents in Biloxi and Gulfport were defeated, bringing new faces to city hall. In Biloxi’s Ward 3, Robert “Mike” Nail beat three-term incumbent Dixie Newman, winning 61.7% of the vote. In Gulfport’s Ward 1, Kendal Buckner defeated four-term incumbent Kenneth “Truck” Casey with 60.3% of the vote. Both Nail and Buckner face no opponents in the upcoming general election. Other races in Moss Point, Pascagoula, Bay St. Louis, and Diamondhead also concluded with new winners.

Voters elect new Mississippi House members in special election runoffs
