SUMMARY: A historic graveyard in Harrison County, Mississippi, was discovered nearly a decade ago. Efforts are now being made to preserve the site, which is located on private property. The owner allows people to visit the graves, but there is concern that the possibility of the site being sold leaves those with ancestors buried there weary. The cemetery holds importance to the individuals who moved to Mississippi, particularly the site camp. Efforts are underway to discuss strategies and potentially buy the land to protect the graveyard.

Saturday morning’s meeting, led by Mariam Clayton, was held to discuss strategy and cleanup ideas for the site, which can be found off of Landon Road.

SUMMARY: Antinuclear antibody (ANA) testing is a key tool in diagnosing autoimmune disorders. Dr. Beth Lindsay from Singing River Health System explains that a positive ANA test doesn’t confirm a disease but signals the need for further investigation, including medical history and additional tests. Symptoms such as fatigue, joint pain, and rashes often lead to this testing. It helps diagnose autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus. The evaluation process involves detailed questioning and additional testing. Early diagnosis allows for timely treatment, and ANA testing can be performed across all age groups, from children to the elderly.

Dr. Beth Lindsey shares more on testing done to spot autoimmune diseases.
