Harris County Deputy constable murdered on his way to work
SUMMARY: A Harris County Deputy Constable, Maher Husseini, was ambushed and fatally shot while driving to work in West Houston. The suspect approached Husseini’s vehicle and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Police apprehended the suspect later after he crashed his car in Galveston and attempted to swim to escape. Witnesses recalled the chaos of the dramatic pursuit and the suspect’s capture. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear as investigations continue to determine if Husseini was specifically targeted or if it was an act of road rage. Husseini leaves behind a wife and two children.
The suspect believed to be involved in the death of a Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Deputy, who crashed into the water by Old Causeway in Galveston, is now in custody.

Deadly crash shuts down SH-288 headed south at McGregor Drive

HPD update: Police find man dead after neighbor calls 911 on group of men with rifles in parking lot
SUMMARY: Lieutenant Riley of the Houston Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 14700 block of West Oaks Plaza Drive, which occurred around 11 p.m. Officers responded to reports of suspicious individuals with rifles shooting in an apartment complex. Upon arrival, they found an open garage and discovered shell casings. Entering the residence, they found one deceased adult male, believed to be linked to a narcotics-related incident gone wrong. A large amount of drugs was located inside the residence. Suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, and police are seeking video recordings and witnesses.
Police said the caller reported that a group of five to six men with rifles were shooting guns in the area.
