SUMMARY: Buxy Upper Elementary School, originally built in 1961 and serving various educational levels, is being considered for a new purpose as the community evaluates a new location for elementary students. Superintendent Buo emphasized the need for a modern facility, stating the current building, designed for high school students, is unsuitable for younger grades. Two potential sites are being considered: next to the existing school and the former Michelle Junior High property on Popsy Road. Community sentiment leans toward the latter option. Buo assured that the historic current building would remain standing for district and community needs. Final site decisions will be made by December 4th.

A public forum will be held Dec. 4th at 5 p.m. in the Biloxi Schools Performing Arts Center.
