Long Beach takes next step toward long-awaited harbor repairs
SUMMARY: Long Beach city leaders are progressing towards repairing the storm-damaged harbor, following Hurricane Zeta’s destruction of piers and docks in October 2020. In a recent meeting, aldermen voted to solicit bids for inner harbor repairs. Although FEMA awarded the city $2.58 million, rising costs due to inflation may exceed this amount.
