SUMMARY: On Mardi Gras Day 2025, an EF1 tornado touched down in eastern George County, confirmed by the National Weather Service shortly after 7 PM. The tornado, characterized by peak winds of 100 mph and a narrow path of only 30 yards wide, caused significant damage in just one minute. It left a trail of destruction between highways 63 and 613, uprooting trees and damaging structures. Reports included twisted metal and debris scattered across properties. Fortunately, the weather following the event improved, with sunny conditions expected, although a level one risk for storms is anticipated for the upcoming Saturday night.
