Hank Plona says Julius Thedford is not ruled out for rest of season after injury
SUMMARY: WKU men’s basketball freshman guard Julius Thedford suffered a knee injury during a 71-57 loss to MTSU, dislocating his kneecap and tearing a ligament. Although the injury doesn’t require surgery, it will need rehab. Head coach Hank Plona remains optimistic, stating Thedford could return later this season, though he is expected to miss a couple of weeks. Thedford will miss WKU’s upcoming road games against Louisiana Tech and Sam Houston. He joins Babacar Faye as a player with an uncertain return timeline for the season.

Warmer weather on the way this weekend
SUMMARY: Central and Eastern Kentucky will experience milder temperatures, reaching the low to mid-60s Thursday. A warm front will bring warmer air and a chance for thunderstorms on Friday, with highs in the upper 70s. Scattered storms are likely in the morning, but the afternoon will remain mostly dry. This weekend, expect continued warm temperatures in the mid-70s and scattered showers on Saturday, but outdoor activities shouldn’t be a total washout. A significant storm system may lead to strong to severe thunderstorms on Sunday, with lingering showers into Monday. Cooler temperatures will follow before another warming trend mid-next week.
